Here's How Thermally Conductive Silicone Sponge Works In a Heat Press Machine

Even pressure distribution
When a heat press machine applies pressure to the fabric, the Thermally Conductive Silicone Sponge helps to distribute that pressure evenly across the entire surface of the fabric. This ensures that the design is transferred smoothly and evenly, without any wrinkles or creases.

Temperature regulation
Thermally Conductive Silicone Sponge also helps to regulate the temperature of the heat press machine. It acts as a heat insulator, helping to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the machine, which is essential for creating high-quality prints.

Durability
Thermally Conductive Silicone Sponge is a durable material that can withstand high temperatures and constant use. It won't break down or deteriorate over time, ensuring that your heat press machine stays in good condition and continues to produce high-quality prints.

Easy to clean
Thermally Conductive Silicone Sponge is also easy to clean. Simply wipe it down with a damp cloth or sponge after each use to remove any ink or residue.

How to Process Thermally Conductive Silicone Sponge

Extruder

The extruder will need to be cold feed as is all rubber extrusion. There doesn't need to be anything special for silicone sponge and you can swop from solid to sponge very easily, all that is needed is a clean through to avoid contamination.

Sponge dies

The die is a very important part when making sponge. It depends on compound selection on how to design the die, but making a die for sponge extrusion is a lot harder than solid dies.

Talcing method

This is needed to enable the sponge to expand on the curing belt. Talcing can be done via a talcing bath made inhouse or from a silicone machine specialist.

Curing oven

The curing oven will ideally need a temperature range from 150c-280c. This is a wide temperature range, but with this range you will also be able to cure FDA sponge. 2 zones as mentioned would be preferable. But this is not a necessity as with formulation changes you can work with one zone. The length of the oven dictates the line speed so the longer the better as you will be able to run faster.

Haul off

Haul off is the method in which you put the extrusion under a little tension. The tension is needed to stop snaking of the extrusion. Snaking is when the compound expands it bends and begins to cure in a bent state if not under tension. There are haul machines available and these pull the extrusion at a higher speed than the conveyer belt. Some ovens have different zones and belts. So by speeding the second belt up you are able to achieve the tension required.

Post curing oven

A post cure oven is required for most sponge formulations. This flashes off some of the volatiles and gives the product a better compression set. You can make a formulation to exclude a post cure, but this product may not be suitable for some applications.

FAQ

Q: Do silicone sponges really work?

A: Online reviews indicated the silicone sponge did a good job cleaning lightly soiled pots and pans, and depending on the brand, dishes. However, some reviewers did note that they had to use other tools for stuck-on food items or to clean surfaces.

Q: What is a silicon sponge used for?

A: Cushioning and shock absorption: Silicone sponge sheets are used as padding or cushioning material in packaging, electronics, and medical devices. They can absorb shocks and vibrations, protecting delicate components or products during transport or use.

Q: How often should you replace silicone sponges?

A: Ideally, you should be replacing your sponge every week or two or sooner if you notice an odour. Wringing out your sponge thoroughly after use, placing it in a holder to dry, and cleaning it every other day will help minimise the risk and prolong the replacement time.

Q: Do silicone sponges hold bacteria?

A: Silicone Sponge: Silicone sponges are great alternatives to traditional sponges because they don't harbor bacteria.

Q: Are silicone sponges better than loofahs?

A: Unlike traditional loofahs or sponges, silicone doesn't trap bacteria or mildew, making it more hygienic and easier to clean.

Q: Are silicone beauty blenders better?

A: Additionally, a silicone sponge is not porous like the beautyblender or wedge-shaped makeup sponges and therefore doesn't harbor any bacteria. It's easy to clean, sanitize and reuse to your heart's desire. The bad: Silicone sponges are great for smooth coverage, but don't work well for blending.
Non-porous, food-safe silicone. Safe to use on non-stick cookware and all other kitchen surfaces.

Q: How to sanitize silicone sponges?

A: Soak Sponge and Heat in Microwave.Soak the kitchen sponge in water first because a dry sponge can start a fire. Place it in a shallow microwave-safe container. Microwave the damp kitchen sponge for 5 minutes.

Q: Does silicone collect bacteria?

A: Silicone is also odor and stain resistant. It's hygienic and hypoallergenic with no open pores to harbor bacteria making it great for food containers and lunchware.Brushes are in fact the most hygienic of the three. Brushes are easy to clean and dry quickly, making them the top choice for germaphobes.

Q: What holds more bacteria, a sponge or a dishcloth?

A: So germ-wise, we're talking about 10 million bacteria per square inch of a kitchen sponge and about one million per square inch on a dishcloth. Also when searching for this bacteria information, you will find there are several ways to clean a sponge in lieu of throwing it away.

Q: Do silicone sponges scratch dishes?

A: NO MOISTURE – It ensures zero moisture retention that makes it able to dry up quickly. ✔️ DOES NOT SCRATCH – unlike other sponge which scratches the surface when scrubbed, this scrubber does scratch in any way.

Q: Are silicone sponges good for face?

A: Since a silicone makeup blender won't absorb product like a traditional soft, foamy sponge does, it also doesn't soak up product on your face while you're blending it. A little full-coverage foundation can go a long way when your sponge isn't eating it up.

Q: Are silicone sponges worth it?

A: Yes! Fischnetz with Benefits are more hygienic than traditional dish sponges. They do not act as reservoirs for microorganisms because they do not soak water and dry quickly.

Q: What are the benefits of silicone sponges?
